If I could do it all over again

I’d make the Same Mistakes

Fall in love with the wrong guy

Wrong time

TWICE.

If it brings me YOU again

I’ll pay the price

Heartbreak aside

It all worked out

My cold bed warms

As long as I’m alive

Squished between two babies

Having the time of our lives

Beating my feet

Kicking off evil crummies

Crummies are our enemy

Interrupting soft footsies

I can’t help but join the cackling

though it’s wayyy too late

celebrating moments

while counting the minutes

Between school and chores and birthdays

and decades — in a flash

Baby skin thickens.

Our love matures

We have more in common

I feel like the student now

Though when the light hits just right

You laugh, but it’s baby you smiling

In a flood it all comes back

The times I held you tight

Innocent eyes of wonder bright

You’re a star

Converging past-present-future

when I look back

I hope it’s you four

In every lifetime.
