Matriz y Concha began in 2012, as a response to the reproductive, sexual health, and ancestral healing needs of my community. After hearing the same questions from many clients, and investing hours of my day educating them on the same topics, I couldn’t help but be curious about whether there was a better way to share my knowledge. I desired more time with my two young children, so out of practicality, and la necesidad, I decided to teach a group of students. There was no other intensive like Matriz y Concha at the time. I had no examples to draw from, but my people inspired me. Folks who came to me for help were abused by the medical industrial complex, had turbulent relationships with their families, and were suffering from all sorts of womb imbalances. These folks, just like me, deeply needed self care, community connection, and to return to ancestral healing.
